Thoughts on a Trail
By: Esther
An early morning run
becomes a reverie of wonder.
The weather,
perfect as you can imagine.
A summer filled with thunderstorms,
breaks open,
to morning dew shines on grass.
An early morning run
becomes a reverie of wonder.
Between the overhanging trees,
beams of warm sunlight fall on
trails along the river.
A curious young coyote
peeks out of the bushes.
Runners and walkers
smile or exchange greetings.
An early morning run
becomes a reverie of wonder.
While running,
I like to think
about the day
Jesus rose from the dead.
It was full of running.
An early morning run
becomes a reverie of wonder.
His resurrection
is the reason for our solid Christian hope,
that one day,
all of creation
will turn their lives over to Him.
An early morning run
becomes a reverie of wonder.
For those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will run,
and not grow weary.
They will walk,
and not be faint.
An early morning run
becomes a reverie of wonder.
